Optional promoted listing standard fees on eBay give your listings a boost by promoting them in search results and related item sections. Here's how it works: You set an ad rate (anywhere from 1% to 20% of the final sale price) to control how much you’ll pay for that extra visibility. The fee is charged only if a buyer clicks on your promoted ad and makes a purchase within 30 days.
The fee is locked in based on the rate active at the time of the buyer's first click. So, even if you stop promoting the item later, the original rate still applies.
