Shopify makes it possible for merchants to apply special handling fees, but how you go about it depends on your shipping setup. If you're using flat rates, you can't directly add a separate handling fee through the Shopify interface. Instead, merchants often choose to bundle the handling fee into the total shipping cost or adjust the product price to cover the additional expense. For example, if you want to charge a $2 handling fee, you can increase your shipping rate from $4.90 to $6.90.
For those using calculated shipping rates, there’s an option within Shopify to add a handling fee as a % or a flat amount.
