The Previous Reserve Amount Balance is basically the money that Amazon had set aside but has now made available again. This usually happens when they temporarily withheld some of your payment for reasons like credit card issues or if you’re a new seller without much history.
When those reserved funds are released, they show up as the Previous Reserve Amount Balance in your settlement files. It’s a way of letting you know that the money that was previously held back is now ready for you to use. In your accounting, you’d typically allocate this amount to a suspense account or an asset account like Amazon Reserved Balances, so everything stays accurate in your financial records.
Sometimes, a statement may show an unavailable balance. When those funds become available in the next statement, they’re labeled as Previous Reserve Amount Balance and typically appear as a Beginning Balance item.
