Returns Processing Fees

Shopify's returns processing fees are typically associated with specific aspects of the return process, such as restocking fees and return shipping costs. 

• Restocking fees: Merchants can charge a restocking fee—a percentage of the item's price—to recover some of the costs related to handling returns. This fee is set up in Shopify’s return management settings. 

• Return shipping fees: These costs can be managed flexibly. Merchants have the option to provide free return shipping, charge a flat fee, or require the customer to pay for shipping. If you're using Shopify Shipping, you can even take advantage of discounted return labels, which are "pay on scan", meaning you’re only billed once the customer uses the label.
