The Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 Report is a third-party audit that outlines how a cloud-based service provider handles sensitive customer data and how safe and effective its security protocols are. The report assures that the service provider’s service commitments and system requirements are met based on the Trust Criteria of Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy.
As all SOC 2 audits take over several months to ensure
long-time control and adherence to the Trust Service Criteria, this type of report proves that a service provider can protect data over an extended time period.
