The hidden cost of manual accounting: Moskinto’s challenge 

The main challenge Rodrigo faced before finding Synder was, without a doubt, time. As every entrepreneur knows, and Rodrigo echoes, time is the most valuable resource in every company. Running a lean team meant Rodrigo had to wear many hats, including one he admits he wasn’t particularly suited for—being the “accounting guy.” 

One major pain point for Moskinto was the reconciliation of reports from multiple sales channels. The company’s CPA needed Rodrigo to manually compile data from these platforms into Excel, cross-check them, and ensure everything was balanced. While the process was straightforward, it was time-consuming and Rodrigo felt like something that shouldn’t be taking so much energy at that stage of the company. As he recalls: “I knew there had to be a better way to streamline processes with the technology available today”.

This works perfectly with systems like Shopify and QuickBooks. It’s been important because it hasn’t limited our ability to handle complex product setups—it enabled our business to thrive.

This level of granularity makes it so much easier to track exactly where your money is going and coming from. Each warehouse had different needs, and the varying conditions created more complexity for the team. We manage inventory on consignment in some locations, work with international warehouses, and rely on third-party logistics. For example, Moskinto could create a rule that auto-categorizes all transactions from USA as “USA Sales” or assigns a “Bulk Purchase” category to transactions involving a specific product bundle. By automating these categorization tasks, Moskinto saved time and resources, reduced manual errors, and gained better control over their financial data.

The conditional rules stand out as one of the most flexible tools. You can create a highly specific system tailored to your needs. It’s incredibly versatile—allowing you to assign inventory classes, warehouse locations, or update specific fields on your books based on any trigger, like a sales metric or other criteria. This flexibility really opens up possibilities.
