Synder helps automate records keeping of your Amazon transactions into your books (e.g., QuickBooks or Xero). And there are times when you might notice some transactions stuck in the Pending status, which means the transaction will be ready for synchronization once the connected platform has finalized processing it. No actions are required at this point.

This may impact both Amazon fees and payouts. In this guide, we are going to explain why sometimes your Amazon payouts (settlements) are not changed from the “pending” status for quite a time. The reason lies in that Synder strives to maintain 100% accuracy. Let’s dive deeper into the possible causes:

1. Synder is waiting for the bank to confirm receipt of the transfer from Amazon

It takes time for the funds to reach the bank, and once they do, the bank’s confirmation prompts Amazon to mark the transaction as “Closed-Succeeded.” Synder then waits for this status update before changing the sync status from Pending to Synced.
Sometimes, a transfer might fail on its way to the bank. Marking the transaction as Synced too soon could lead to incorrect financials, which would be a serious issue. Keeping the transaction in Pending (and not recording it in your books yet) while waiting for the bank’s confirmation ensures accuracy in your financial reports.

2. Availability of settlement reports

Amazon’s settlement reports often are not available until the funds successfully reach the bank. We rely on a feedback loop: once the bank confirms the transfer, Amazon generates the settlement report. Synder then uses these reports to accurately import and sync Amazon fees.
Until these steps are completed, the payout transaction will remain in the Pending status.

3. Ensuring accuracy of the exchange rate

The exchange rate for foreign currency transfers changes daily. Synder keeps the payout transaction in the Pending status until the exchange rate is finalized. Using an old exchange rate would not be accurate and could affect your ability to reconcile transactions.

The above points summarize the common reasons Amazon payouts remain in the Pending status for some time. You can always rest assured that Synder is working in the background, waiting for confirmation steps before processing the sync.
