Synder’s product verification feature for Summary Sync helps you keep your product details accurate before they’re included in summaries. This is particularly important if you’re tracking Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), where accurate product information ensures precise financial reporting.

    Understanding the product verification feature

    When Synder syncs your transactions, it also imports the related products. You can find them under the Products and Services tab in the left-hand navigation panel. By default, products are labeled as Unverified, but this status won;t affect  summary syncing unless you adjust the  settings.

    To stop summaries with   unverified products from syncing, enable the Disable sync for summaries with unverified products setting. Learn more about this here.

    Once you’ve enabled this setting and updated the product verification status, follow these steps to refresh your summaries and sync accurate data to your accounting platform.

    How to refresh summaries with the Attention required status

    Select all transactions > then click Refresh.

    Go to Summaries > Summaries list tab.

    Filter Transaction status by Attention required.

    Refreshing these summaries will update them to reflect the verified product status. Once the process is complete, their status will change to Ready to sync.

    How to refresh summaries with the Synced status

    If a summary was already synced before updating the product verification status, you’ll need to resync it to apply the changes.

    1. Go to Summaries > Summaries list tab.
    2. Navigate to the Synced to your books section.
    3. Select the necessary summaries and click Resync.

    Resyncing rolls back the original entry and syncs it again with the correct product details. This step is especially important if you’ve updated any product costs, ensuring your books accurately reflect COGS.

    Recap

    • Unverified products won’t block summaries from syncing unless you enable the Disable sync for summaries with unverified products setting.
    • After updating product verification, refresh summaries with the Attention required status to mark them as Ready to sync.
    • For previously synced summaries, use the Resync option to update your books with the correct product information.
