Go to Step 2.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>It is not there at all<\/strong> \u2014 it was never imported. Import it first (see <a href=\"https:\/\/synder.com\/help\/how-to-find-missing-transactions-in-synder\/\">How to Find Missing Transactions in Synder<\/a>), then come back to Step 2.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>It is there but failed<\/strong> \u2014 see Step 3, scenario C.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"step-2-add-the-missing-transaction-to-the-summary\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Add the missing transaction to the summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pick the scenario that matches what you found in Step 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"scenario-a-the-transaction-is-in-ready-to-sync-but-not-in-th\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scenario A \u2014 The transaction is in \u201cReady to sync\u201d but not in the summary<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the <strong>Summaries List<\/strong> and select the summary for the affected period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the summary is <strong>already synced<\/strong> to your accounting platform, <strong>roll it back<\/strong> first (this removes the posted entry so it can be rebuilt). See the warning below before rolling back.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Rebuild<\/strong> so Synder regenerates the summary using the current transactions for that period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sync<\/strong> the rebuilt summary again to post the corrected totals to QuickBooks or Xero.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/synder.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/image-12-1024x483.png\" alt=\"Rebuilding a summary from the Summaries List\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"scenario-b-you-just-imported-historical-or-late-transactions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scenario B \u2014 You just imported historical or late transactions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After importing, the new transactions land in Platform Transactions but are <strong>not<\/strong> added to any summary that already covers their dates. Use the same fix as Scenario A for each affected period: <strong>roll back (if synced) \u2192 Rebuild \u2192 Sync<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"scenario-c-the-transaction-failed\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scenario C \u2014 The transaction failed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open <strong>Synder \u2192 Transactions<\/strong> and filter to find the failed transaction(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Archive<\/strong> the failed transactions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Refresh\/Rebuild<\/strong> the related summary \u2014 it should now update automatically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sync<\/strong> the summary again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Important \u2014 before rolling back a synced summary:<\/strong> rolling back removes the journal entry or summary already posted to your books. If that period is <strong>already reconciled or closed<\/strong> in QuickBooks or Xero, do not roll it back on your own \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/synder.com\/contact\/\">contact the Synder team<\/a> first so the correction can be made safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"step-3-verify-the-summary-now-includes-the-transaction\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Verify the summary now includes the transaction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the rebuilt summary and check the <strong>Last updated<\/strong> timestamp to confirm it reflects your latest change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the <strong>Register<\/strong> table (<strong>Summaries \u2192 Register<\/strong>) to search for the transaction by ID or amount and confirm it now appears.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reconcile the totals between your <strong>payment platform<\/strong>, the <strong>Synder summary<\/strong>, and your <strong>accounting clearing\/bank account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/synder.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/image-11-1024x341.png\" alt=\"Checking a transaction in the Register table\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"why-an-already-built-summary-does-not-update-on-its-own\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why an already-built summary does not update on its own<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the key point. <strong>Once Synder has generated a summary for a period, it does not automatically pull newly added transactions into that summary.<\/strong> If you import historical transactions, reconnect a platform, or a late transaction arrives for a period that already has a summary, that summary keeps its original contents until you rebuild it.
