Instead of one combined Sales line, you get a separate line per region. For example, you will see lines like <em>Sales \u2013 US-CA<\/em>, <em>Sales \u2013 US-NY<\/em>, and <em>Sales \u2013 US-TX<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Use this guide if you:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sell to customers in multiple states or provinces and need <strong>state-level sales tax tracking<\/strong>. For example: <em>Sales \u2013 US-CA<\/em>, <em>Taxes Payable \u2013 US-NY<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assign each region line to the correct income account in your Chart of Accounts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then click <strong>Save mappings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transactions without a shipping region appear under <strong>\u201cUnknown\u201d<\/strong> or <strong>\u201cN\/A\u201d<\/strong>. Summaries already synced to your books will not update on their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply the change to previously synced summaries, you need to rebuild them. This means rolling them back and regenerating them before re-syncing. For detailed steps, see: <a href=\"https:\/\/synder.com\/help\/how-to-rebuild-summaries\/\">Summary Sync: How to Rebuild Summaries<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only one grouping method can be active at a time. Therefore, enabling Group by region will replace any active grouping by product name\/SKU or product category.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Region data comes from the <strong>shipping address<\/strong> on each transaction, not the billing address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transactions missing a shipping address will always appear under <strong>Unknown<\/strong> or <strong>N\/A<\/strong>. This is expected behavior and not an error.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changing the grouping setting does not affect summaries that are already synced.
