Depending on your Shopify setup, you may run into different situations during the process. Below, we cover the two most common cases with step-by-step instructions for each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use this guide if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You already have <strong>one Shopify store connected to Synder<\/strong> and need to add a second one<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are getting an <strong>error when trying to connect your second<\/strong> Shopify store<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You have multiple Shopify stores under one or more admin accounts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"case-1-one-admin-account-with-two-shopify-stores-11495c43-f20d-4326-b1db-0af6b6d53532\"><strong>Case 1: One admin account with two Shopify stores<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In this scenario, you have <strong>one admin account<\/strong> with access to <strong>multiple Shopify stores<\/strong>. However, a connection issue can occur because of how the OAuth authorization flow works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-the-oauth-flow-works-01b970e1-f444-447f-bf3d-f8bb111ddb7e\"><strong>How the OAuth flow works<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you click <strong>Connect<\/strong> in Synder, Shopify generates an authorization URL that contains the name of the store you are currently logged into. As a result, Synder authorizes itself specifically for <em>that<\/em> store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-can-go-wrong-5045c536-c3f2-4c21-beca-ff215055df09\"><strong>What can go wrong<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After you successfully connect your first store, clicking <strong>Connect<\/strong> again will cause <strong>Shopify to redirect you to the same store<\/strong> you were already logged into \u2014 not the second one you want to add.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> If you try to switch stores using the Shopify dropdown menu <em>while on the Synder authorization page<\/em>, Shopify will invalidate the authorization token. This means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The new store will not connect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your previously connected store may also lose its connection in Synder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-fix-this-431ef3ac-281a-432d-8b5d-4ebd45ef85a2\"><strong>How to fix this<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, verify that your first store is still connected to Synder by checking the <strong>Organization settings<\/strong> page. Because you already switched to the second store in Shopify, Synder will redirect you there and the connection should complete successfully. Your first store will remain connected as well.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"case-2-two-different-admin-accounts-with-two-different-shopify-stores-9cdfab1b-9f48-4e83-a49f-aac918bbe90c\"><strong>Case 2: Two different admin accounts with two different Shopify stores<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In this scenario, you have two separate Shopify admin profiles, and each one controls a different store. You want to connect both stores to the same Synder organization.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong> <strong>Admin account A is logged into Store 1<\/strong> and is already connected to Synder. <strong>Admin account B has access to Store 2<\/strong>, which you now want to connect.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What happens:<\/strong> When you try to connect the second store, you will see an error. To resolve this, follow the steps in Case 1 or Case 2 above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Will connecting a second store affect my first store\u2019s connection?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not if you follow the steps correctly. However, in Case 1, switching stores using the Shopify dropdown while on the Synder authorization page can cause the first store to lose its connection. To avoid this, always switch stores in Shopify <strong>before<\/strong> starting the connection flow in Synder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do I need separate Synder organizations for each store?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>No.<\/strong> You can connect multiple Shopify stores to the same Synder organization.
