In this example, we are also syncing AfterPay payments with the Shopify integration, and we will include it in the calculation.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sum both of these amounts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/synder.com\/help\/how-to-download-the-clearing-account-report-from-quickbooks-online\/\"><em>Follow this link<\/em><\/a><em> to find the exact steps on how to generate a clearing account report in QuickBooks and how to find this sum.<\/em> Th<em>e same logic can be applied to other accounting software like Xero and Oracle NetSuite<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The amount you receive will match the sum of these transaction types in the Shopify (required for Synder) clearing account in your QuickBooks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Congratulations, you have successfully reconciled your Shopify!&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For some reason, the numbers don&#8217;t match. Continue reading to troubleshoot!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"if-your-clearing-account-does-not-reconcile-cefa2ef8-fa10-423c-9dbe-f9c1ca913de8\"><strong>If your clearing account does not reconcile<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When the balances between your Shopify and QuickBooks Online reports don&#8217;t match, it&#8217;s often caused by unsynchronized transactions. Follow the steps below to make sure that Synder has successfully synced your Shopify data. If even one transaction isn\u2019t synced, your clearing account won\u2019t reconcile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to Synder and filter transactions by status. Make sure that all the transactions within your reconciliation period are in statuses: <strong>Synced<\/strong> or <strong>Skipped<\/strong> on the Platform transactions page. All the other statuses indicate that the transaction is not in your books or needs additional checking. These transactions prevent reconciliation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure you are comparing the right numbers (sales might not equal cash, for example). It\u2019s important to use the right numbers for reconciliation and comparison.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your platform was disconnected within the reconciliation period, make sure you run a Historical Import on the Platform transactions page to retrieve any missing transactions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If your balances still don\u2019t match after these checks, move on to <strong>Advanced Comparison (Excel Method)<\/strong> below to identify specific discrepancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-1-download-required-reports-d4de07af-b5f2-4c63-955c-9385a0580c07\"><strong>Step 1: Download required reports<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you followed the previous steps, you should already have the required report from QuickBooks Online.<br><br>However, you still need to download a report from Shopify. To remove unwanted text, we can use an <strong>Excel formula<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create a new column called <strong>\u201cClean ID.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy and paste the formula below:<br><br>=MID(E2, SEARCH(&#8220;orderid_&#8221;, E2) + 8, 13)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Where:<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E2 is the column+row to search.<br>SEARCH(&#8220;orderid_&#8221;, E2)&nbsp; Finds the starting position of &#8220;orderid_&#8221;<br>+8 amount of characters the search should skip.<br>13 the number of characters ID consists of.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply this formula to the whole <strong>Clean ID<\/strong> column.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy values of the <strong>Clean ID <\/strong>and <strong>Amount<\/strong> columns into a new sheet.
