These steps define how long synchronization takes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Integration query<\/strong> \u2013 Synder fetches data from your connected platform (Stripe, PayPal, Shopify, etc.).<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>E-commerce order match (if applicable)<\/strong> \u2013 If your orders (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.) were paid via an external gateway (PayPal, etc.), Synder links the payment with the right order. Finding the correct match can take extra time.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Internal processing<\/strong> \u2013 Synder standardizes and prepares the data for sync.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Accounting query &amp; posting<\/strong> \u2013 Synder checks your accounting system (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) for related records and posts the transaction. The more customers, products, or accounts you have, the longer searches can take. Usually, it is not a problem for ongoing synchronization and is only an issue once you onboard to Synder and need to synchronize months\/years of history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-speed-up-synchronization-699890f6-5f97-4ddd-970c-9be88e52c592\"><strong>How to Speed Up Synchronization<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To optimize sync speed for a specific platform:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review the <strong>synchronization log<\/strong> of 3\u20135 random transactions of a specific platform to see which step takes the most time.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adjust settings (or contact support) based on what\u2019s slowing things down.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeat it for each connected integration (reasons for slow sync can vary depending on the platform)<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"common-ways-to-improve-sync-speed-cf7fe200-b75f-4f3b-a7c7-d9cf0f3175b0\"><strong>Common Ways to Improve Sync Speed<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important: This applies to Synder Per Transaction sync users. If you use the Summary sync product, please contact support for help.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Customer search<\/strong> \u2192 If slow, enable <strong>\u201cApply generic customer\u201d<\/strong> (Platform Settings \u2192 Sales tab).<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transactions won\u2019t list individual customers, but sync will be faster.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Product search<\/strong> \u2192 If slow, enable <strong>\u201cRecord transactions with &lt;common&gt; product\/service name\u201d<\/strong> (Platform Settings \u2192 Products\/Services tab).<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Individual products won\u2019t appear in reports; product details will move to the description field. Sync will be faster. A good workaround would be to use a different income account (or classes\/locations\/tracking categories, dimensions) to keep your reports detailed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Product quantities and COGS for inventory products will not be tracked if common product is used.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Duplicate check<\/strong> \u2192 If slow, disable <strong>\u201cSkip synchronization of duplicated transactions\u201d<\/strong>.&nbsp; (Platform Settings \u2192 General tab)<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Synder will stop checking for duplicates, so if you manually trigger the synchronization twice, you may wind up with duplicates, but syncing will be faster.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Payment application<\/strong> \u2192 If you don\u2019t use open invoices\/bills, disable <strong>\u201cApply payments to unpaid Invoice\/Bill transactions\u201d <\/strong>&nbsp;(Platform Settings \u2192 Invoices tab).<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This prevents Synder from searching for open invoices in your books before posting payments, improving speed.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>E-commerce order matching <\/strong>-&gt; If you don\u2019t need Synder to match the payment to a related order from another platform (e.g., Shopify order paid by PayPal, etc) &#8211; <strong>apply to support<\/strong> to see if this can be disabled for your case.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We call this process smart reconciliation. Synder combines the e-commerce order with its external payment to avoid duplications and to enrich the payment with order data (products, discounts, shipping, etc).
