Depending on your configuration, transactions are recorded in your accounting platform as individual entries or summarized journal entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide explains how to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify the starting and ending balance of your Amazon account<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reconcile your clearing account<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compare Amazon and accounting data to identify discrepancies<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>QuickBooks Online is used as an example. The same reconciliation approach applies to other supported accounting integrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Use this guide if:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You use Amazon match<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After completing the steps, your <strong>Amazon clearing account will reconcile with sales, <\/strong>payouts, and fees reflected accurately in your flow<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To reconcile your Amazon clearing account, compare its ending balance with Amazon\u2019s ending balance for the same period.<br>Here\u2019s how you can find<strong> the Amazon balance<\/strong> by downloading the <strong>Custom Unified transactions<\/strong> report:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to Amazon \u2192 Payments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Reports Repository.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply the following filters:<br>Account types: All (unified report)<br>Type: Transaction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the required time clearing report will match your Amazon Custom Unified transactions report amount, meaning the reconciliation was successful. Congratulations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"if-your-clearing-account-does-not-reconcile-59078349-c4d1-4a98-80c8-4064bbc613a7\"><strong>If your clearing account does not reconcile<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the balances between your Amazon and Quickbooks report don&#8217;t match, it&#8217;s often caused by unsynchronized transactions. Follow the steps below to make sure that Synder has successfully synced your Amazon data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to Synder and filter transactions by status. Make sure that all the transactions within your reconciliation period are in statuses: <strong>Synced<\/strong> or <strong>Skipped <\/strong>on the Platform transactions page.<br>All the other statuses indicate that the transaction is not in your books or needs additional checking. As long as such transactions are present, your books won\u2019t reconcile.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure you are comparing the right numbers (sales might not equal cash, for example). It\u2019s important to use the right numbers for reconciliation and comparison.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your platform was disconnected within the reconciliation period, make sure you run a <strong>Historical Import<\/strong> on the Platform transactions page to retrieve any missing transactions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If after that your balances still don&#8217;t match, follow the steps below to identify discrepancies by comparing Amazon and QuickBooks Online data in Excel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-1-download-required-reports-a371e4ac-5aeb-447d-98d7-419c3caf38ca\"><strong>Step 1: Download required reports<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You should already have a report from Amazon if you\u2019ve followed the main reconciliation flow. If not, please download it by following the steps above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will also need a report of the Amazon clearing account from your accounting software.<br><br><strong><em>Important<\/em><\/strong>: Download only <strong>released<\/strong> transactions, not deferred ones, as deferred transactions won\u2019t appear in settlement reports until released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/synder.com\/help\/how-to-download-the-clearing-account-report-from-quickbooks-online\/\"><em>Follow this link<\/em><\/a><em> to find the exact steps on how to generate a clearing account report in QuickBooks Online<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Note<\/em><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> If your QuickBooks clearing account has tens of thousands of transactions, it might not download the full dataset. After downloading one of the reports above, check for data completeness. For accurate reconciliation, you need to consolidate these into a single row per transaction, showing the total amount.
