This date determines <strong>which reporting period<\/strong> the income, fees, and refunds land in, and therefore how well your books tie out to Stripe\u2019s <em>Balance &amp; Payout<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Historically Synder has used the <strong>created date<\/strong> (the moment a charge, refund, payout, etc. is created inside Stripe). In most cases that matches the date that Stripe books the amount to your balance, but not always. Midnight\u2011crossing events or Stripe processing delays can push the <strong>Balance date<\/strong> (the timestamp on the related <em>balance transaction<\/em>) into the next calendar day or even month, throwing off period\u2011end reconciliations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How the setting works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Setting options:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Created date<\/strong> \u2013 uses the original object\u2019s created time stamp from Stripe.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Balance date (recommended)<\/strong> \u2013 uses the related balance transaction time stamp (the date the money was actually booked to your Stripe balance and shown in Balance &amp; Payout reports).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The setting applies to the following Stripe transaction types:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Application fee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Application fee refund<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Charge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IssuingTransaction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payout<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refund<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Top up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Notes: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stripe fees coupled with payments will always share the same posting date under either option, so fees stay in sync with revenue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All other Stripe transaction types already post using the Balance date by default, so the Posting date setting does not affect them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing the posting date (step\u2011by\u2011step)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Navigate to<\/strong> Settings \u2192 Sales \u2192 Posting date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose <strong>Created date<\/strong> or <strong>Balance date<\/strong> (recommended) from the dropdown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Changes apply <strong>prospectively<\/strong> \u2013 all new Stripe transactions synced after you save will use the selected setting value.
