But if you want to break down your platform fees into different categories and map them accordingly, you can set up more groups based on the description of other parameters.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Once the groups are set up, you can <\/em><strong><em>rebuild<\/em><\/strong><em> your summaries and map the new lines to the appropriate accounts.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-create-a-mapping-group-40a6073f-e953-456e-9551-95a77f7909a1\"><strong>How to create a mapping group<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-1-open-groups-ebb4f952-00cc-45ec-8e1c-705e5b34f4a7\"><strong>Step 1: Open Groups<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the <strong>Mapping<\/strong> dropdown on the left-side menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>Groups<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Add group<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Manual groups main group conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each group includes the following fields:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Group (name):<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enter a <strong>clear, descriptive name<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The name appears in mapping and summaries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renaming updates the mapping immediately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Existing summaries require <strong>Rebuild<\/strong> to reflect the new name.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Transaction:<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Defines the transaction type coming from the platform.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sale<\/strong> \u2013 Any sales (Invoices, orders) will appear under this group.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Payment<\/strong> \u2013 If your platform generates invoice payments, payments themselves will display under this type.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;<strong>Refund<\/strong> \u2013 Platform refunds (not chargebacks)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Expense<\/strong> \u2013 Platform fees, expenses, negative chargeback amounts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Adjustment<\/strong> \u2013 A <strong>fallback group<\/strong> for all other transaction types, e.g., payouts, fee reversals, chargeback returns etc.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Tip<\/em><\/strong>: If you are unsure about which transaction type to select, choose \u201c<strong>All Transactions<\/strong>\u201d and use other fields (like description or amount) to filter for the records you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Accounting category<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can select one accounting category per group.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Integration<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Integration dropdown lists all your connected integrations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you want to have certain groups specific to a particular integration, select it from the list.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Preview<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click \u201c<strong>Preview<\/strong>\u201d to see which transaction lines fall under your selected parameters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preview displays line-level data exactly as shown in the Register table (<strong>Summaries \u2192 Register<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the preview is empty, you either have to adjust the Group conditions or import more data from the platform<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" additional conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can add more detailed conditions based on the available data by following these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click <strong>Add condition.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the desired value from the dropdown (description, memo, address, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the operand (\u201ccontains\u201d, \u201cequals to\u201d, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the desired value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use <strong>Preview<\/strong> to confirm the needed transactions fall under the group.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Create condition groups (optional)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If the needed transactions can not be filtered out using only one condition, you can add <strong>multiple conditions<\/strong> or Use this guide on <a href=\"https:\/\/synder.com\/help\/how-to-rebuild-summaries\/\">How to rebuild summaries<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-disable-a-group-33488aac-ac30-4480-bacf-644d13600a1d\"><strong>How to disable a group<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to disable the group, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access <strong>Groups<\/strong> from the left-side menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the three-dot menu next to the group.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Disable group<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/synder.com\/ef8f0a12-1bc6-4619-b3a0-8505a1499b2f\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After following these steps, the group will no longer be assigned to any new transactions. For already generated summaries, you will have to <strong>rebuild<\/strong> them to apply the current group setup.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you <strong>change account names<\/strong> or <strong>turn accounts into subaccounts<\/strong> in your accounting software, these updates won\u2019t automatically appear in the Synder Mapping tab. Summary lines will still sync correctly because Synder uses account IDs, not names. If you\u2019d like the Mapping tab to reflect your current naming structure, you can update the name assigned to groups from the <strong>mappings list<\/strong> manually.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"faq-6df32b04-c9b5-40da-89d0-2c833ea7038c\"><strong>FAQ<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>How do Mapping Groups work with multiple sales platforms?<\/strong><br><em>By default, all connected integrations are chosen while creating the group. As long as the set conditions are met, the group may apply to several sales platforms. If you need the group to work only for a specific integration, define the needed one in the \u201c<\/em><strong><em>Integrations<\/em><\/strong><em>\u201d tab. <br><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Will summaries be synced without creating the manual mapping groups?<\/strong><br><em>Yes! During the account creation, Synder automatically creates the list of default groups, so your basic mapping is ready to go. Add the manual groups if you need further categorization. <\/em><em><br><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I created new groups, but transactions still fall under the default group. Why?<\/strong><br><em>In this case, you will either have to adjust the group conditions or import more data from the platform, as the necessary transaction may not have been imported yet.
