Cases it may cover:<\/strong> sometimes there is no specific description field on your payment platform\u2019s side leaving the Description <\/em>field empty in QuickBooks Online, which can lead to the lack of details when sending sales receipts, invoices, etc. to your customers. Thus, you can use a smart rule to tell Synder what to put in this field after the sync.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overview:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Create a rule<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Check the result<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Create a rule<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1. Log into your Synder account \u2192 go to the Smart rules<\/em> tab on the left-side menu \u2192 click on Rules <\/em>\u2192 hit Create rule<\/em>;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. Select Invoice <\/em>as a trigger (a transaction type the description will be updated in) \u2192 Created<\/em>;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Note:<\/strong> We use Invoice <\/em>as an example. Meanwhile, you can use other transaction types, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Then, click on Condition <\/em>\u2192 click on the nearest box;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Now you need to tell Synder when the system should update the Description. For example, you can update a description for all transactions containing a specific memo (e.g., juice<\/em>):<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          -select Memo<\/em>;
          –Contains<\/em> (it\u2019ll allow you to update a description based on a part of the memo, leaving the rest of the field unchanged);
          -type in part of the whole memo (you can specify different variations in separate fields) – e.g., Juice<\/em>, juice<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Then, click YES <\/em>under the condition box \u2192 click on the nearest box;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Click on Action<\/em>;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            1. Under Create\/Edit Action<\/em>, select QuickBooks action<\/em> \u2192 Invoice \u2192<\/em> Update current<\/em> \u2192 Set QuickBooks entity data<\/em>;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              1. Navigate to the Description <\/em>field \u2192 type in what you\u2019d like to see in it \u2192 click on Submit<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                Note:<\/strong> If there was a description present in the line previously, it’ll be replaced with the new one from the rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                1. Click on Save & Close Rule<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                  Sync one of transactions to verify the result:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  1. Go to the Platform transactions<\/em> tab \u2192 click on Ready to sync<\/em>;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                    1. Click on Show in QB<\/em> after the transaction has been synced.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
