This applies to any supported payment platform or gateway. The examples below use Stripe for reference.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"option-1-multicurrency-disabled-035d8d9d-301d-4d4d-8666-8909ceeed2ce\"><strong>Option 1: Multicurrency Disabled<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Use this setup if you receive payments in multiple currencies, but all payouts are converted and deposited into one bank account in a single currency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if customers pay in different currencies, your accounting records remain in one home currency because the payout is received in a single currency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-this-setup-worksnbsp-69a22d73-7206-44c9-b772-4b2631a78a9a\"><strong>How This Setup Works<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Customers pay in multiple currencies.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The payment platform converts the amounts before payout.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your bank receives one payout in your home currency.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Synder syncs <strong>one summary in your home currency<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"example-scenario-ecc73fea-2248-419c-bde2-50276a37b5aa\"><strong>Example scenario<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A business receives the following sales during the day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$100 USD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$100 CAD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$100 AUD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The payment processor converts all amounts into USD before payout:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$100 USD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$75 USD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$66 USD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The final payout deposited into the bank account is $241 USD. Synder will automatically sync summaries converted into the home currency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"option-2-multicurrency-enabled-8c7bbbd3-530d-4763-88f0-9e96953c9e9f\"><strong>Option 2: Multicurrency Enabled<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Use this setup if you receive payments in multiple currencies and your payment processor sends payouts in separate currencies without conversion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This setup is appropriate if you maintain separate bank accounts for different currencies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-this-setup-worksnbsp-48d30b44-a35f-45d7-8dfa-0547d25aa566\"><strong>How This Setup Works<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Customers pay in multiple currencies.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The payment platform does not convert payouts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each currency is deposited into a separate bank account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Synder creates separate Journal Entries or Invoices\/Credit Notes for each currency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"example-scenario-019219fb-135d-4e39-a48b-03d0cba70303\"><strong>Example scenario<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A business receives the following sales during the day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$100 USD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$80 CAD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$300 AUD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The payment processor doesn\u2019t convert sales amounts and sends them in different currencies to 3 different bank accounts in USD, CAD and AUD accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, your bank account receives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$100 USD \u2192 USD bank account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$80 CAD \u2192 CAD bank account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$300 AUD \u2192 AUD bank account<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If Multicurrency is enabled and separate mappings are created for each currency using separate clearing and checking accounts, Synder does not perform currency conversion. It will create 1 summary for $100 USD, $80 CAD and $300 AUD with separate journal entries (for QuickBooks Online) or invoices\/credit notes (for Xero) and send it to the books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"example-summary-flow-for-usdnbsp-9031bf13-1cbf-4aeb-8ca9-f0fad28f2b8b\"><strong>Example summary flow for USD<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The same logic applies to each configured currency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>USD Daily Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>+$100 to Clearing\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>+$100 to Sales\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>-$100 from Clearing\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>+$100 to Checking\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, you will be able to seamlessly reconcile each of your checking accounts with the numbers supplied by Synder. The sync will not go through if, for example, your home currency is USD and you map USD sales to NZD accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s it! After following these steps, Synder will aggregate the data in summaries according to their currencies and will create separate Journal Entries or Invoices\/Credit notes for each currency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"important-notes-384f43a8-d074-4e7f-a146-6acaa6a4eda0\"><strong>Important Notes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Multicurrency Cannot Be Disabled <\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><br>Once Multicurrency is enabled in Synder, it <strong>cannot<\/strong> be disabled. If you decide to synchronize summaries in home currency only after having multicurrency enabled, create a new organization.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"faq-09a6d1cf-e2d6-414c-adce-a9622afeb6e5\"><strong>FAQ<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Can I edit mapping for specific currencies? <\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><em>Yes. You can customize mappings for each of the currency at any time. After updating mappings, rebuild existing summaries to apply the changes. Check out <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/synder.com\/help\/how-to-rebuild-summaries\/\"><em>this guide<\/em><\/a><em> for step-by-step instructions on how to rebuild summaries.<\/em><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Can I use the same clearing account for multiple currencies, if I have multicurrency enabled?<\/strong><br><br><em>This is not recommended.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For original currency summaries, create separate clearing accounts for each currency to simplify reconciliation and maintain accurate balances.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Can I use multicurrency sync if my accounting platform home currency differs from my payout currency?<\/strong><br><br><em>Yes.
