As a result, you get clearer insights into your sales, expenses, and profitability by business segment. With Synder, you can apply QuickBooks classes automatically to income or expense transactions, based on the amount, description, memo, or other fields.&nbsp;<br>Below, this guide shows you how to use Smart Rules to apply classes based on the description. In our example, Synder <strong>adds the class \u201cFruit\u201d to any transaction whose description contains the word \u201capples\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><h2 id=\"2\"><strong>QuickBooks Online setup<\/strong><\/h2><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, you would need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>make sure you have<strong> class tracking enabled<\/strong> in your QuickBooks Online account settings (learn how to enable them <a href=\"https:\/\/quickbooks.intuit.com\/learn-support\/en-us\/help-article\/class-list\/turn-class-tracking-quickbooks-online\/L1uqOta7C_US_en_US\">here<\/a>). Synder supports classes both for<strong> each line <\/strong>in transaction and<strong> for each transaction<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you turn on class tracking, <strong>create classes needed<\/strong> in QuickBooks, so that you can select them in Synder.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"3\"><strong>Synder setup<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When that is done, open your account in Synder. So we go with <strong>\u201cLine:Description\u201d contains the word \u201cApples\u201d. <\/strong>So, any time the description in any line of sales receipt contains \u201cApple\u201d (like \u201cThank you for purchasing apples!\u201d) Synder will apply the rule. You can keep adding options like \u201capples\u201d, \u201cbananas\u201d, \u201coranges\u201d, etc. using OR fields.<br>Then click \u201c<strong>yes<\/strong>\u201d so that the rule continues working when this condition is met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may select any field from the dropdown, choose the operands on the next line, and enter the condition value at the end.
