It applies to e-commerce businesses, accountants, and finance teams who sync transactions from payment platforms like Stripe, Shopify, or Amazon to their accounting system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use this guide if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You sell the same products across multiple platforms with different SKUs or naming conventions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You need consistent and accurate product records in your accounting system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You manage a large product catalog and want to streamline reconciliation and reporting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This article focuses only on product mapping. It does not cover:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Initial setup of Synder or integration connections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inventory management configuration in accounting platforms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advanced automation rules beyond product mapping<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-synder-treats-products-1002c706-b8d9-4dc0-babe-b6372e9a6d2e\"><strong>How Synder treats products<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Synder recognizes existing product names in your accounting system. During sync, it looks for an exact match by product name or SKU. If it finds one, Synder applies that product to the transaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a product name does not exist in your accounting system, Synder can create it during sync. You can configure this behavior in the <strong>Products\/Services<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes product names differ between your payment platform and accounting system. In that case, you can map them in Synder. This ensures each transaction uses the correct product in your books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The product mapping feature is available on the Essential plan and higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"product-mapping-flow-in-synder-019b0667-5beb-4477-a110-58d7920a1719\"><strong>Product Mapping Flow in Synder<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To map product names from your payment platform to your accounting company:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to <strong>Synder Settings \u2192 Product Mapping \u2192 Map Products.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Add Mapping<\/strong> to create a new product mapping line.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the product name from your integration in the <strong>Integration<\/strong> field. Make sure the name <strong>exactly matches<\/strong> what appears on your payment platform. This includes <strong>colons, underscores, and other special characters<\/strong>. You must fix it before saving any other settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Product mapping <strong>does not apply to tax or shipping items<\/strong>. These are recorded as separate line items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Result Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After mapping the products, the system will eliminate duplicate entries in your accounting system. Products not present in Striep will appear on the <strong>Not Mapped<\/strong> page in the mapping settings.
